4 Things To Do When Using A Picture Framing Service

Blog

Picture frames can help you display your favorite photos beautifully. The right picture frame can enhance the beauty of any photograph while protecting that photo from ultraviolet rays and fingerprints. Finding the right frame for a picture can be tough, but picture framing services can help you with the process from start to finish. Here's what you can expect to do when you utilize a picture framing service:

1. Choose the right size picture frame.

Picture frames come in multiple sizes, some small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and others large enough to take up an entire wall. Picture frames are typically sold in standard sizes that correspond with common sizes of photography prints. To ensure you choose the right size picture frame, measure your photographs before arriving at the framing store. Remember that picture frames need to be at least a little larger than the photos they contain, especially if you want your photos to be matted before being placed inside their frames.

2. Pick a style of picture frame.

Once you know what size you're looking for, you can move on to choosing a great style of picture frame. Picture frames are made from many materials including plastic, metal, and wood. Some picture frames are designed to stand upright on flat surfaces, while others feature hooks that allow them to be mounted to walls. You can pick your picture frames to complement the decor in your home or office. You should also choose picture frames that will nicely complement the photos themselves.

3. Take your photographs to the picture framing store.

When you're ready to have your pictures framed, you'll need to bring your photographs to the picture framing store. Make sure your photographs are clean and unbent since the condition of your photos will affect the outcome of the picture framing process. Once you give your photos to a customer service representative, they can begin the process of matting and framing your pictures.

4. Be careful with your newly framed pictures.

Once your pictures have been mounted securely in their frames, they're ready to be displayed in your home. A customer service representative will carefully package your framed photos for transport. However, you should still be careful with your newly framed pictures. The glass inside picture frames is fragile, so be gentle as you load your pictures in and out of your car.

The Ocean and Photography: My Two Loves Combined

Ever since my parents allowed me to snap a few photos on their camera on vacation when I was a young child, I have loved photography. While we lived in the Midwest, I became hooked on taking photographs of the ocean and boats when we visited the Florida coast during one of our trips together. I found that just being near the ocean really made me happy, and after we returned home, I was able to "take the ocean with me" to experience that same feeling by taking photos of it. Being near the ocean is so calming and uplifting, but most people don't live near the coasts and don't get to experience its beauty every day. I now live by the ocean, so I decided to create a blog to share my tips about how you can best photograph the things you love.
